  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chili powder (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour for naan
  • 1 tsp sugar for naan
  • 1 tsp salt for naan
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast for naan

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef cubes with salt, black pepper, turmeric, curry powder, and optional chili powder.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat; sauté chopped onions until translucent. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; cook until fragrant.
  3. Add marinated beef; brown on all sides for about 5-7 minutes. Stir in tomato paste and crushed tomatoes.
  4. Pour in beef broth and coconut milk; bring to a boil then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for at least an hour until beef is tender.
  5. For naan: Combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl; gradually add warm water to form dough. Knead until smooth and let rise for about 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven; roll out naan dough into circles and bake until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Serve hot garnished with cilantro alongside warm naan and basmati rice.
