Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 black tea bags (or chai tea)
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon chai spice blend
  • 4 cups organic all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups artisan bread flour
  • 1 packet rapid rise yeast
  • 12 teaspoons pumpkin spice blend
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup organic brown sugar + 1 tablespoon
  • 1 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (room temperature)
  • 1 cup organic pumpkin puree
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and cooled until warm)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup organic brown sugar (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened at room temperature for filling)
  • 1 tablespoon Dessert Lover Blend
  • 3 cups organic powdered sugar (sifted, for glaze)
  • 4 oz organic cream cheese (softened at room temperature for glaze)
  • 34 tablespoons cooled chai tea mixture (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm almond milk and maple syrup. Add black tea bags; steep for about 5 minutes before removing them. Mix in rapid rise yeast and let it sit until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, combine flours, pumpkin spice blend, sea salt, and brown sugar. Gradually add the yeast mixture along with eggs and melted butter to form a dough. Knead until smooth; let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  3. While the dough rises, mix softened butter with brown sugar and Dessert Lover Blend until creamy.
  4. Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread filling evenly over rolled dough. Roll tightly from one end to form a log; cut into equal pieces.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place cut rolls on lined baking sheet. Let them rise again for about 15–20 minutes. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar. Stir in cooled chai tea mixture until well combined.
  7. Drizzle glaze over warm cinnamon rolls before serving for maximum indulgence! Enjoy your Homemade Pumpkin Chai Cinnamon Rolls fresh out of the oven!
