  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder for glaze
  • 6 tablespoons Coca-Cola for glaze
  • 4 cups powdered sugar for glaze
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for glaze
  • Whipped cream for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a saucepan, combine Coca-Cola, unsalted butter, and cocoa powder; bring to a boil and then remove from heat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour and sugar. Pour the hot cola mixture over the dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Stir in buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Divide batter among prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  6. For the filling, beat cream cheese until smooth; add powdered sugar and vanilla. Whip heavy cream to stiff peaks and fold into the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Assemble the cake by layering with cream filling between cooled layers.
  8. Prepare the glaze by melting unsalted butter with cocoa powder and Coca-Cola; whisk in powdered sugar until smooth.
  9. Pour warm glaze over the assembled cake and garnish as desired.
